French Club Meeting 10.12.2011
There will be a French Club meeting at 7:45am in Madame's room on Wednesday, October 12th. We will be voting on our officers for the 2011-2012 school year. Dues are $10 and will include this year's French Club t-shirt.

French National Honor Society Inductees

Congratulations to the following SDHS students who have been accepted into the French National Honor Society at South-Doyle High School for the 2010-2011 school year. Students must complete French II in order to qualify, with many who have taken French III and IV Honors, and maintaining an “A” average throughout their studies.

 There will be an induction ceremony for the Fall 2010 inductees (listed below) and the Spring 2011 inductees who will be announced at the end of August. More details to follow.

French National Honor Society
The French National Honor Society is an international organization overseen by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) to honor the academic achievement of French language scholars and promote the study of the francophone culture. It's purpose is to celebrate the French language and culture. 

Potential SHF members must have minimum 93% cumulative average in all French courses taken in addition to an 83% cumulative average in all other non-French high school courses. Members must also demonstrate exemplary character and be willing to promote French language and culture in the community and beyond.


It is a great honor to be invited into this nationally-recognized organization.

French Club
The mission of the SDHS French Club is to enrich, encourage, and expand the knowledge of the French language and culture for students in providing the opportunities to participate in French cultural festivities.  This includes film festivals, guest speakers, international nights and culinary demonstrations as well as various workshops.  The club is designed not only for French students, but those interested in the French life and culture in general.

FELICITATIONS!!


MadameWaits and two of her students, Lindsey Foust and Kierra Askew, have won the NETC "Neil Travels the World" photo contest.  Students who were on summer travel to foreign countries were invited to submit their trip photos for use in NETC publications, and voting took place online for the best picture.  For their winning photo atop the Eiffel Tower, the two ladies shared a $500 prize and their photo will appear in NETC's tour catalogue.
